My Truly Custom Telecaster

The skill, suggestions and expertise of Sean Bowers, my local luthier, helped make my ultimate Telecaster dream come true. It all started with an idea to cap an existing mahogany body on eBay with spruce. As many times as I bid on the bodies (there were several), I always got bumped at the last minute.

I guess Sean got tired of waiting, picked up some beautiful wood and announced that my project had begun. He ended up getting some wonderfully-grained mahogany and the wildest birdseye maple for the neck I have ever seen.

Take a look at the results. The nitro-cellulose lacquer by Chris Odee and gold hardware makes for a truly stunning instrument.

The guitar plays great...like only a hand-made instrument can. The semi-hollow body is extremely resonant and sounds great unplugged. The combination of a Van Zandt Tele pickup and Kent Armstrong Firebird pickup is incredible.
